New Ranger – 2d6 hit dice per level? Why so high?

@SlyFlourish2d6 hit dice per level? Why so high? Just curious. pegs the ranger as the best at surviving stuff – ultimate survivor, a la Aragorn falling off a cliff in LotR movies

@Iscariot125 @SlyFlourishIt eliminates his need for hit and run/skirmisher tactics though if they can just soak it all up. artifact of earlier draft with companion that didn't require concentration
