How come we only hear of halfelves but not halfdwarves or dare I say?

@dndwiz @ChrisPerkinsDnD @mikemearlshow come we only hear of halfelves but not halfdwarves or dare I say? half-halfings (quarterlings?) But you DO hear about them. In my (ahem) SHORT stories.
